Mental Illness or Something Else?
I recently learned that one of my high school friends whom I had not seen since we graduated has spent most of her adult life in various facilities for patients with psychiatric problems. If I had heard this information about Pat a few years ago my reaction would have been different. Now I'm inclined to wonder if she really is an FBI agent in one of her lives and it seems perfectly reasonable to me that she might be a reincarnated saint and that she might commune with aliens. It all fits in with everything I have been learning about non-local consciousness and LBL and the TSP and simultaneous time.
Of course the fact that I think Pat might actually be experiencing the "unshared realities" that comprise her symptoms doesn't make her situation any more manageable. If you can't take care of yourself and can't relate to other people it doesn't much matter if what you are experiencing is real or imaginary
This situation makes immediate some interesting questions that I have been pondering but mostly casually and in the abstract. I've seen a lot of complaints from people on the various websites that it's a bummer we can't remember our previous lives. Well, what if that amnesia block is there to protect us from being overwhelmed by the mountains of data that would flood into our 3D minds and bodies leaving us with no way to organize the information and no way to ascertain what is happening "now" and what we are experiencing in other dimensions of the big Now? What if schizophrenia and bi polar and multiple personality disorder are all a result of damage to the curtains that separate us from our other lives, and the curtains that separate us from the "spirit world"?
I asked Ben what he thinks about my friend's situation.
Ben, what do you think about Pat?
B: I love Pat. She was a funny laughing girl.
D: How do you know?
B: I see her in your memory of course.
D: Apparently she is very ill now.
B: She is, but only in a limited sense of the word, ill. It's like if your nose is bleeding. That in itself does not constitute illness. Unless there is an underlying cause it's just an injury.
D: So Pat is injured.
B: All her other lives and possibilities are bleeding through.
D: Is it like what I said about tearing the curtain that separates the worlds?
B: Sort of like that. But you are thinking of a theater curtain or a giant blanket hanging on a clothesline. It's really closer to what Erik said. The curtains, as you call them, are actually installed in the human brain. That's why all sorts of brain damage and trauma and even severe stress or a high fever can cause a weakening of the barriers and cause people to "hallucinate" or suffer a psychotic breakdown.
D: I'm getting an image of an elaborate system of dikes and levees like in Holland.
B: Good catch. The Dutch Netherlands are surrounded by water. The people have to work constantly to keep the ocean from flooding in and drowning them. You and your fellow humans and other creatures are spirits, souls, energy stuff. That is the real you, the non-physical you. Your little 3D body is surrounded by everything that isn't physical 3D you. There are barriers in place to keep you from wandering out of 3D and to keep everything else from flooding in on you. Now there are people, always have been, who are able to contact other dimensions. Some of these people enjoy this and are able to benefit from "the gift" and even help other people. But some people find it terrifying. They want to be sure of what is "real" and what isn't. But either way it's not so much a gift as a minor defect in the hardware. If it is minor it's minor. It could be major in which case it can cause enormous suffering, as in the case of your friend.
D: In one of the Channeling Erik videos Erik teased Jamie about how her gift for accessing other dimensions isn't far from being schizophrenia
B: I think my sweet PIP worries about that sometimes
D: Do you blame me?
B: It's like everything else. It's energy management. Access to other dimensions overwhelms children who aren't prepared for it and have parents who don't understand or are afraid to think about other dimensions. It overwhelms anyone who is committed to the idea that there is only one reality and we're living it.
D: So what about Pat? Can anything be done to help her?
R: She's actually not doing too badly. She is able to enjoy her visits to other dimensions when they aren't too scary. And her physical well-being is provided for. I think I can help her manage the traffic that invades her mind. She doesn't have to have icky scary people threatening her.
D: Someone mentioned energy attachments. Does Pat have those messing her up?
B: For sure. The longer you keep having unmanaged energy flowing into your system the more emotional upheaval you are going to experience, usually as a result of negative and highly charged encounters with people who don't understand you or are afraid of you. Intense emotion poured into negative thoughts will eventually manifest as attachments that seem to have a life of their own.
D: Are they like Derek's black, sticky thought forms? http://www.thezenofben.com/violent-death.html
B: Exactly. They get to be like tar and very difficult to remove.
D: Can you help her do that?
B: Maybe. But it would be a lot easier if she were already disembodied. She keeps generating new ones.
D: Bummer.
R: I might be able to turn off or at least turn down the tap so to speak. And as I mentioned I can probably direct some of the traffic away from her. I can make sort of an energetic storm-drain. It will at least take some of the pressure off. And then we can work on the tar babies. (And no that isn't racist.)
